Kitchen Storage & Organization: Drawers, Cabinet Rollouts and Pullouts
Trash Rollout
Our double-bin trash rollout is the most popular is it can hold regular trash in one bin and recyclables in the other.
Drawers
Our drawer boxes are all custom manufactured to fit each kitchen’s individual drawer spaces. We use 1/2-in. MDF covered in an easy-to-clean white melamine finish on all sides, which are then edge-banded to finish out cut edges.
Rollouts
Our rollouts work much better than shelves to help maximize your cabinet box space or cabinet pantry while improving access to its contents. These are all custom manufactured to fit each kitchen’s individual cabinet space. We use 1/2-in. MDF covered in an easy-to-clean white melamine finish on all sides, which are then edge-banded to finish out cut edges.
Spice Rack Pullouts and MORE!
Spice rack pullouts, drawer organizers, and other types of kitchen cabinet storage are also available. Be sure to ask about them at your design consultation.
Countertops
Below are typical countertop design materials that can be coordinated as part of your Refresh. These are examples only. Each material type is available in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and styles.
HD/High Definition Laminate
Material: made from super durable plastic to emulate surfaces such as marble, quartz or granite; available in the largest variety of color and style options vs. any other material
Durability: typically more easily scratched and not as heat resistant as other options, but easy to clean
Price: $-$$ - the most budget-friendly option, typically about half the cost of entry level quartz
Soapstone
Material: this is a soft, quarried natural stone
Durability: less brittle than other options so not as likely to crack and is non-porous so does not need sealing and is less likely to stain, but because it is softer it can be vulnerable to scratching
Price: $$-$$$ - typically mid-range in price compared to other options
Solid Surface
Material: mineral dust mixed with resins and pigments, known under brand names Corian, Avonite, and Swanstone
Durability: good heat resistance, fairly easily scratched, but is one of the most repairable surfaces of countertop options
Price: $$-$$$ - typically mid-range in price compared to other options
Marble
Material: this is a quarried natural stone
Durability: good heat resistance, fairly easily scratched, and can be prone to staining if not sealed or the seal is not maintained
Price: $$-$$$ - typically mid-range in price compared to other options
Butcher Block
Material: solid, thick cuts of wood in a variety of species (cherry, oak, walnut, maple) laminated together and sealed
Durability: can be more prone to scratching and typically requires monthly sealing with food-grade oil to protect from staining
Price: $$-$$$$ - typically mid-range in price compared to other options, but high end options can run on the expensive side
Natural Granite
Material: quarried natural stone
Durability: generally has natural waterproofing making them stain-resistant, and are considered one of the easiest countertops to maintain
Price: $$-$$$$ - typically mid-range in price compared to other options, but some selections are the most expensive of any countertop type
Quartz
Material: natural quartz ground coursely or finely and mixed with polymers, resins and pigments
Durability: considered one of the most versatile countertop materials offering stain and crack resistance in a wide variety of color and style options generally not needing sealing; can be vulnerable to heat, however
Price: $$$-$$$$ - typically mid-range in price compared to other options, but can run on the more expensive end with some selections
Replacing countertops is optional
Because we work with a client’s existing cabinets, Kitchen Refresh can often keep your existing countertops if you desire. This can save clients THOUSANDS of dollars vs. complete cabinet replacement, in which case, keeping your existing countertops is not even an option.
