Kitchen Refresh locations are taking many precautions as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Understand that some of these precautions that locations are able to follow are based on available supplies of some items, such as hand sanitizer.

The precautions being taken are as follows:

Social distancing

Because Kitchen Refresh design studios are always one-on-one design consultations rather than retail spaces filled with large numbers of people, the studio spaces are conducive to the CDC recommendation of keeping to a maximum crowd size of 10 or less. If you join a Refresh consultant at the Design Studio, we ask that you limit those attending to only those necessary to be there. We will follow the same practice for in-home consultations, only bringing those necessary. Click here to find your location and to book an in-home or design studio appointment.

Remote consultations

While we normally recommend a design studio or in-home consultation so you can see sample doors and the actual door finish options, we are making Remote Video consultations temporarily available during this time. These will be conducted via smartphone and will require you to have either FaceTime, if the designer and you both have an iPhone, or Skype if either of you have an Android phone. Click here to find your location and to book a Video Remote consultation.

Sanitizing

If you join the design consultant in the studio, or if they come to your home, they will be using CDC-recommended hand sanitizer prior to and once every hour after. Understand that hand sanitizer is in limited supply and they may not have sufficient hand sanitizer for client or public use, so having your own hand sanitizer available for your personal use is recommended.

Disinfecting

If you join the design consultant in the design studio, know that CDC-approved methods and disinfectants will be used to disinfect the surfaces throughout the studio. The kinds of disinfectants will vary by location due to availability; please contact your local design studio directly if you need specific information on the kind of disinfectant being used at a specific location.

Contagion prevention when symptomatic

If a design consultant exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, they will cancel their appointments and reschedule them for at least 14 days out from the first sign of symptoms, or until they’ve had the opportunity to be tested and cleared, if that is the case. Additionally, consultants will be reaching out prior to consultations to inquire if you, anyone in your family, or anyone they’ve been exposed to has been exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, in which case, the consultation will be canceled and rescheduled for at least 14 days out from the date when they first exhibited symptoms.

Vendors and subcontractors

Understand that locations may have employees as well as work with various vendors, and subcontractors. To the best of our ability, we will require they follow the same process and procedures that we are with regard to the actions outlined here, again, based on available resources.
