Kitchen Refresh of Bismarck was a Lucky Duck sponsor of the Bismarck Capital Ice Synchronized Skating Program’s annual Duck Race, held Tuesday, August 13, at 6 p.m.

The Duck Race is Capital Ice Synchro’s annual fundraising event held at Raging Rivers water park in Mandan, N.D. The money raised helps cover costs for costumes, competition fees and travel expenses. For the 2019-2020 season, the team’s travel will include competitions in Ann Arbor, Mich., and Wichita, Kan. If the teams qualify for the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, they will also travel to Providence, R.I.

Capital Ice Synchro, with about 150 youth currently in their program, has a rich history of national-level teams. The Capital Ice Chips have competed at the US Synchronized Skating Championships for the past nine years; and the Capital Ice Connection have competed at the Championships the past three years.

Capital Ice Synchro is Bismarck Figure Skating Club’s synchronized skating program. “Synchro” skating is a team sport in which 8-20 skaters perform a program together. It uses the same judging system as singles, pairs, and dance and is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations and challenging step sequences.
