Bach brothers: Kitchen Refresh of Des Moines franchisees
Brothers Jimmy and Joe Bach, Des Moines, have recently been named as Kitchen Refresh franchisees for the greater Des Moines area.
Kitchen Refresh utilizes a room's existing cabinetry to enable homeowners, landlords, and businesses an alternative to complete kitchen or bath renovation by using the space’s outdated, worn or homely cabinets and updating them with a new color, new doors, new drawer fronts, new concealed, soft-close hinges, new drawer and door pull hardware, and cabinet additions, modifications or other alterations if desired, as well as new countertops, flooring and other improvements. Kitchen Refresh transformations are typically completed in just 1-5 days and for up to 75 percent less than custom or semi-custom cabinets.
Jimmy, originally from Ida Grove, Iowa, has 7 years of home remodeling experience, attended Iowa State University, has earned a commercial pilot license and also has experience as an executive chef.
Jimmy co-owns Des Moines remodeling company Knopros Inc. with his brother Joe, and will be offering Kitchen Refresh by Knopros.
“We have completed everything from new home construction to additions, and everything in-between,” Jimmy said. Having started as contractors working with real estate investors and real estate agents on rehab properties, they eventually added residential remodeling into their scope of work, focusing on kitchens, baths and basements.
“I love the challenges that each individual project brings and the client relationships,” Jimmy said. “The client reactions to transformations are always extremely gratifying. I like to take the complexities of a project and the teamwork it takes to bring everything together.” Joe agreed, adding “My favorite part about renovation is seeing the whole process - the before and after - from design to the finished result.”
Jimmy and his fiancé Lacey have a 9-month old son, Jace.
Joe, also originally from Ida Grove, Iowa, has 4 years of home improvement industry experience and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago. He performs on the weekends with the band “Call of the Road,” which plays a blend of country, rock and blues.
Joe and his wife Kimberly Markert-Bach have a Great Pyrenees/Border Collie named Anuk.
